Woman's guide: Best hairstyles / haircuts for round faces with straight, wavy or curly hair

For women with round faces, many complain that they look really flat and that their faces lack depth. Many round faced women tend to have bigger faces (due to the roundness) that look slightly out of proportion when compared to the body. However, your hairstyle can really help you slim down your face and make it a lot more attractive. This hub is all about good hairstyles for round faces.

Short hairstyles – Short hairstyles are tricky for a woman with round face. Lots of short hairstyles tend to make the face look wider because it adds width to the face. In general, short hairstyles are great for women with long faces. However, if you are a round face woman and want the short hairstyles badly, it can still be done. Here is what you need to do to look good. It needs to elongate the face with some volume on the top. This is easily achieved if you have wavy or curly hair. For those that have very straight hair, it is harder to achieve. Generally, those with round face and straight hair should not attempt short hairstyles. The sides need to be close to the face or tampered to the chin. It should cover a little bit of your face to give the illusion of a slimmer face. Short hairstyles that have volume on the sides are not suitable for round faces. The key to looking good with short hair is to have layers and volume on the top which is suitable for those with wavy hair textures.

Medium hairstyles – In contrast to short hairstyles, lots of medium hairstyles are flattering for a round face. For a round face, bangs should be parted side ways for the best results. It tends to give you more depth to the face which is what round faces lack. Straight hair is great for those with round faces. With medium hairstyles, it is important to see if the hair slims down the face or not. Those that do are great for women with round faces. Avoid hairstyles that add width and make sure your hair is around shoulder length. Hairstyles that are cut blunt at the chin or slightly below the cheekbones are the worst for those with round faces.
Long hairstyles – If you have a round face and like long hairstyles, you are very lucky because lots of long hairstyles tend to flatter a round face. Bangs are not necessary, you can make your hair permed straight and part sideways to flatter your face. This basic hairstyle also helps you achieve a more oval like face shape. Many girls do like bangs and women with round faces can get bangs that part sideways for the most flattering look. If you like wavy hairstyles, it is better to start the wavy part just below the chin. For long hairstyles, it is best to avoid tight curls because it will add width to the face.
